After studying Jazz at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London in the late ‘80s, Donna began her career as a vocalist. Her work has included extensive touring as special guest with top UK Big Bands such as The Glenn Miller Orchestra UKAndy Prior’s ‘Magic of Sinatra Show’, and ‘Big Band Crazy Show’.

She has many recording credits to her name including the Pop chart busting hits ‘Mucho Mambo (Sway)’ and’ Mambo Italiano’ for dance act Shaft. Her own CD ‘Thinking of You’ was released in 2002 to critical acclaim and gained the 4 headphones mark from The Guardian reviews. She is also a founder member of the vocal ensemble ‘Clive Dunstall’s Voxtet’.

Her experience as an educator has spanned the last 25 years including teaching Rock vocals at the Musicians Institute, London (1994), Jazz vocals at Blackheath Conservatoire (1996) Head of Vocals at ACM, Guildford (1999), ICMP, Kilburn (since 2009) and is a regular member of the vocal faculty every summer at the Guildhall Summer School’s Jazz and Rock Summer School.

Since moving from London to Harpenden in 2007, Donna has established The Jazz Singing Class to enable music enthusiasts in the local area to develop their love of singing and performance. The course continues to grow in popularity and attracts people from all walks of life, including bus drivers, teachers, business consultants and barristers.

Many students have enjoyed the benefits of regular singing whilst being able to showcase their talent at each end of term ‘gig’ with a live trio.
